It is important for me to make a body for dressing kimono.
I make a body for dressing kimono with face towels when I go out and take a long walk in winter. Especially I use hot spring towels because they dry soon even in winter.
After the first tea ceremony of 2014, I bought some body towels made of silk at 100 yen shop for battle with the heat. The width of body towel is shorter than face towel. When they slipping down, I seemed to be a fat person…orz… So I fasten them carefully to prevent the slipping-off of them.
In last summer, I tried to make a body with Hechima (loofah), which my teacher of kimono dressing made. It was so light that I felt it was good for hot. However, I gave up using them because it is tough and I felt tiring.
Next, I bought Hechima (loofah) pads.
It’s good!
It’s easy to wear those loofah pads just only fastening the strings.
However, I’ve used them last and this summer. I wear them under the chest by tying strings and the knot is on the pit of the stomach in case of me. So I feel bad when I wear them for long time. (T_T)
Now, I use the body towel made of silk throughout the year.
To prevent slipping off, I changed the order of dressing kimono when I wore yakuta this summer.
Usually : Han-juban/towel/Yukata/Datejime/Obi-ita
This time: Han-juban/towel/Datejime/Yukata/Obi-ita
Datejime seemed to prevent slipping off the body towels. But I may use two datejime by this method and it’s hot when I wear kimono. I’ll do trial and error.
